The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) congratulates the Food and Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian and Pacific Region (FFTC) on its 50th Anniversary celebration.

We, at the DOST-PCAARRD, value FFTC as our longstanding partner in promoting sustainable agricultural development in the Asian and Pacific Region. We have co-sponsored and co-implemented various projects such as conferences, seminars, and workshops that have staged proactive discussion and dissemination of agricultural trends, innovations, and technologies in response to major concerns besetting the agricultural sector. Through FFTC, we were able to forge international collaboration with different experts from the Asian and Pacific Region and have carried out strategies and suitable directions towards sustainable and productive agricultural sector. With its extensive efforts in establishing cross-sectoral partnerships, we hope that FFTC will continuously share new technologies and innovations developed in different countries and place a great deal of emphasis on bridging the gap between scientists and local farmers.

Hand-in-hand, using new and available technologies, we will incessantly aim to present research, development, and extension results and science-based solutions for the advancement of the agricultural sector in the Asian and Pacific Region. Rest assured that PCAARRD will continue to support FFTC in its advocacy in bringing together the scientific communities to share their knowledge and practices on Research, Development and Extension for sustainable development, and set directions on how to enhance education, research, and extension programs.

We look forward to witnessing FFTC evolve over the next 50 years and beyond. Once again, congratulations!

Yours sincerely,

Reynaldo V. Ebora, Ph.D.
