On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to the Food and Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian and Pacific Region (FFTC) on the 50th anniversary of its founding.
Since its establishment in 1970, the FFTC has played a vital role in facilitating regional cooperation and information sharing on agricultural technology and policy. By hosting seminors, training courses, and workshops, the FFTC has accumulated a great body of agricultural knowledge and built up a network of experts and practitioners from member countries and partner institutions.
As both the host country and a founding member, Taiwan has worked closely with the FFTC to promote sustainable agriculture and rural development in the Asian and Pacific Region. This is a key to achieving higher incomes for those working in the agricultural sector. Taiwan is proud to sponsor the Dragon Fruit Network and to promote this delicious tropical fruit in the global market through collaboration with South and Southeast Asian countries. This example demonstrates Taiwan's determination to strengthen regional connectivity under its New Southbound Policy and also shows that Taiwan is reliable partner of the international community. We look forward to future cooperation in related fields.
Congrratulations again and best wishes to the FFTC for continued success in the years to come.
