FFTC management strengthens linkages with Indonesia

Visit to the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST)
Director Dr. Kuo-Ching Lin visits the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) and meets Professor Chang-Hsien Tai, President of NPUST, and Dr. Fure-Chyi Chen, Dean of Agriculture College. The three discuss plans for the upcoming workshop on “Smart Agriculture for Environmentally and Consumer Friendly Food Production,” which is a joint undertaking of FFTC, The Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), NPUST and AVRDC, the World Vegetable Center (WVC) slated this coming May 27-31 at NPUST.
A courtesy call to the officials of the Philippines’ Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO)
FFTC Director Dr. Kuo-Ching Lin pays a courtesy call to the officials of the Philippines’ Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) headed by its Chairman and Resident Representative Mr. Angelito T. Banayo, Director Cesar M. Drilon and Development Cooperation Officer Ms. Irene Joan Tan. Director Dr. Lin and FFTC Information Officer Mr. Ronald Mangubat discuss and give updates on the current projects of the Center, particularly the upcoming training course on “Ecosystems Approach to Fisheries Management” which is a joint effort of FFTC and DOST-PCAARRD. The said training course is scheduled to be held on September 30 to October 4 in Iloilo, Philippines. They also talk about the FFTC Dragon Fruit Network and the many potentials of this special tropical fruit which is starting to make waves in the Philippines.
