Agri food loss, wastes, and innovative technologies for the reuse, recycling and value addition of agricultural wastes and residuals highlight circular agriculture symposium
The recently concluded FFTC-TLRI online and on-site International Symposium on “The Practice and Benefits of Circular Agriculture in Waste Reducing and Recycling” started as part of the Asia Agri-Tech Expo and Forum at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei. Dr. Junne-Jih Chen, Deputy Minister of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan of Taiwan, was the special guest during the opening ceremony. Dr. Ravi Khetarpal, Executive Secretary of Asia-Pacific Association of Agriculture Research Institutes (APAARI) also gave an opening remark via online participation. In this two-day symposium, 14 speakers and four panelists from Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, and Vietnam shared their knowledge and experiences on the impacts of food loss and wastes on agriculture, environment and economy and how innovative technologies for the reuse, recycling, value addition of agricultural wastes and resides can help in the effective operations of circular agriculture. On November 3, the registration of online and onsite participants has reached 161 and 158 people.
