What is the status of agricultural extension in Asia? What are the agricultural extension modalities used by various countries in the Asian Pacific region? Why is agricultural extension important? These and many more will be tackled on August 26, 2021 as FFTC, DOST-PCAARRD and the NTIFO hold the international videoconference on “Best Practices and Approaches on Agricultural Extension Modalities.”

The Keynote Speaker will be Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña, of the Philippines’ Department of Science and Technology. The other sessions will be:

  1. Extension modalities focusing on farm productivity, improved marketing and increase in income
  2. Extension modalities focusing on increasing resiliency through disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation
  3. Extension modalities focusing on rural development especially for economically and/or socially disadvantaged areas.

The videoconference will be livestreamed via the Webex Cisco platform and the FFTC Facebook page. It will also be conducted simultaneously in two languages—English and Chinese.

We are inviting all researchers, extension workers and agents, farmers and enthusiasts to register and join this video conference. We sincerely welcome your participation. For information and registration, please click on the link:
