Director Chang hosts welcome dinner for two FFTC newcomers

Director Chang hosts welcome dinner for two FFTC newcomers

FFTC Director Dr. Su-San Chang recently hosted a welcome dinner party for the two newcomers in the Center - Deputy Director Dr. Tomonari Watanabe and Agricultural Policy Specialist Mr. Lee Kyong Won. Aside from Dr. Chang and the FFTC staff and management, other invited guests to the welcome dinner party included representatives of the Center’s country partners and officials of international and local agricultural organizations and agencies. In her opening speech, Dr. Chang officially welcomed and introduced Dr. Watanabe and Mr. Lee as the new members of the FFTC family. Dr. Watanabe, a Japanese entomologist, who is the former Director General of Japan’s Institute for Agro-Environmental Sciences or NIAES, one of the core Institutes of the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization or NARO, will assist Dr. Chang in the daily operations of the Center. On the other hand, Mr. Lee, who has worked for 30 years in Korea’s National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF), will be in charge of the Center’s Agricultural Policy Platform. Dr. Chang also enjoined all FFTC staff and partners to give their full support to the two newcomers of the Center.
