FFTC pays courtesy call to the Thailand Trade and Economic Office

FFTC management, including the Director Dr. Su-San Chang and the Deputy Director Dr. Akira Hasebe, paid a courtesy call to the Executive Director of Thailand Trade and Economic Office (TTEO) Mr. Thongchai Chasawath. The FFTC Director Dr. Chang expressed great appreciation to the Thailand partners for continuous support to the FFTC. This benefits the platform a lot.

The TTEO Executive Director Mr. Thongchai Chasawath concerned with the issues of organic farming and food processing. He stated that most farmers in the region are small scale farmers, and the two issues have much to do with how to help these farmers to improve yield quality, increase marketing power as well as achieve sustainable agriculture. He hoped the FFTC could take the leading role to collect and disseminate tangible agricultural technologies and practical practices to those in need.

FFTC Director Dr. Chang agreed with his idea and further mentioned that FFTC's mission is to empower the farmers through technologies. Our 2021-2024 Strategic Action Plan, considering current major agricultural issues in the region, is meant to collect and disseminate comprehensible and useful technologies and information to the farmers. Our activities are open to the general public and we welcome everyone to join in.

Other people in the meeting include the FFTC Deputy Director Dr. Akira Hasebe, and Chief of Economic Affairs Section of the TTEO Ms. Pemikar Lusananon.
