FFTC pays courtesy call to AIT

The FFTC delegate, led by the Director Dr. Su-San Chang, paid a courtesy visit to the AIT Agricultural Section Chief Mr. Mark Petry. Mr. Petry and Dr. Chang have known each other for a long time through previous work collaboration.

In the beginning, The FFTC Director Dr. Chang introduced the Centre to Mr. Petry and the Strategic Action Plan 2021-2024 and the 5 program themes the Centre currently drafting. After that, Dr. Chang briefed this year's FFTC activities, the Dragon Fruit Project and the FFTC Agricultural Policy Platform.

The Centre is now trying to widen the partnerships. Although the United States of America geographically does not belong to the Asian and Pacific Region, there are still some issues of common interest to work together with FFTC. For example, the AIT was invited to join the FFTC's citrus HLB disease management international symposium for sharing their experience. In addition, several speakers from the USA were invited as FFTC symposium/workshop speakers in terms of soil, livestock, tropical fruit subjects.

FFTC is looking forward to having more collaborations with the AIT in the near future.

Other people in the meeting include the FFTC Deputy Director Dr. Akira Hasebe, Agricultural Specialist, Agricultural Section of the AIT Dr. Ping Wu.
