Introduction of FFTC Agricultural Policy (FFTC-AP) Platform

The establishment of the FFTC Agricultural Policy (FFTC-AP) Platform in 2013 is directed toward collecting and disseminating the latest information on agricultural policies from various countries in the Asia and Pacific region, including Australia, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. The information sources include invited and submitted analytic and research papers by agricultural professionals and policy experts mainly in Asia, as well as the latest news from academic and country reports. The main objective of FFTC-AP Platform is to establish a database of national agricultural policies for sharing and exchanging agricultural policy information across different countries.

To date, more than a thousand articles have been published in the FFTC-AP Platform under 30 categories ranging from food security and safety to overview of agricultural policy. In 2019, FFTC-AP Platform has more than 15,000 registered members, and receives attention from other international organizations, such as FAO and OECD. Up to now, the cumulative number of hits of FFTC-AP Platform is more than 10 million.

The FFTC management team has planned to continuously improve the FFTC-AP Platform. The first priority is the redesigning of the FFTC-AP Platform to construct a more attractive, user-friendly and interactive website. FFTC is constantly inviting all researchers, experts from both the public and private sectors to contribute agri policy related papers for publishing in the FFTC-AP Platform.
