In the early years, FFTC has had many joint activities with the Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) University in Indonesia. Through the years, however, with the change of management, the partnership waned. This year, under the leadership of FFTC Director Dr. Kuo-Ching Lin, the connection was once again revived as he, together with Deputy Director Dr. Akira Hasebe, Information Officer Ronald Mangubat and Center Secretary Chia Chuan Chang, talked about strengthening institutional ties with IPB University. The delegation met Prof. Dir. Arif Satria, Rector of IPB University, together with Prof Iskandar Z Siregar, Director, International Program, and Dr. Ir Suwardi MAgr, Dean. The organization leaders talked about reviving the joint activities such as co-organizing workshops and seminars and sharing information on agricultural technologies. Established in 1963, IPB University is the biggest and most well known agricultural university in Indonesia.
