Food and Fertilizer Technology Center - About

The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum for scientists and experts to discuss new technologies and strategies for Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs) of economic significance in Asian countries, and to share their knowledge and experiences in identifying and controlling local-specific EIDs. The outcome of this workshop will contribute to the identification of policy priorities by the decision makers and the adoption of effective management practices for plant protection by the farmers in the future.

Specifically, the objectives are:

• To reduce vulnerabilities and increace protection capacity of economic significant crops from EIDs through international collaboration of survey and research on migratory diseases in the Asian region;
• To provide an opportunity to exchange, share and integrate knowledge on EIDs and minimize the yield loss of Asian major crops;
• To help farmers manage EIDs better in their crop production systems through providing useful information on managing outbreaks and new diseases.
